8th Grade Reflection
This year, I made a pen in inventor.
Before
Before: I was struggling with it becuase the pen had so many parts and it was difficult to make the pen I had. It was really frustrating for me and I worked on it almost every second of every day for such a long time. I even tried changing the object I was making about 3 times before I decided on the pen because the first object I picked only had 2 moving parts instead of 3. So, then I was making the pen and tried to change to a baby toy that my brother didn't use anymore, but I couldn't fully take it apart. So, I went back to the pen and I was worried I wasn't going to be able to make it. Especially the parts when putting them together, because the big case and small case parts didn't fit correctly. And I didn't know how to make threads on the part (the parts that let them screw into each other and the outside of the grippy rubber part).
After
After: I talked to Ms. Williams and she told me it was fine if I only made 3 of the pens parts, so I did. Although, I had to change to another pen to make because my first pen couldn't fully be dismantled. In Inventor, I kept exploring and found the thread button to make the thread on the inside of the big case, the outside of the small case and the outside of the grippy rubber part and also found out how to make the hole not go all the way through (to make the indetation at the top of the clicky bit. And then I made the blueprints, assembled it and took a screenshot (pictured below) and then made a video showing it being put together.
